Mission

Contributing to improved living conditions

To contribute to improving living conditions and promoting the sustainable development of communities and people in situations of vulnerability, through the formulation and implementation of social, humanitarian, environmental and infrastructure programmes and projects that integrate assistance, capacity strengthening, community participation, innovation and cooperation, with a differentiated, rights-based, protection, inclusion and human dignity approach.

To be a social and humanitarian organization recognized in Colombia and with the capacity for international engagement for its effective contribution to the well-being, resilience and sustainable development of vulnerable communities, through innovative, technically sound, participatory and sustainable solutions that generate lasting transformations in territories.

Institutional principles

Eight documented values guide Fundación Katari’s work and relationships.

Human dignity

We recognize the inherent value of every person and promote interventions that respect their rights, autonomy, integrity and ability to participate in decisions that affect their lives.

Equity and inclusion

We work to reduce inequalities and respond to the different circumstances, capacities, identities and needs of people and communities, without discrimination.

Solidarity

We place capabilities, knowledge and resources at the service of people and communities facing vulnerability, crisis, displacement, emergency or exclusion.

Colombia is Fundación Katari’s primary institutional framework.

The vision includes capacity for international engagement as an institutional direction. This does not imply active international presence, offices or programmes.
